A tinting film for the clear parts of the model of the Russian Typhoon-K armored vehicle in 1:35 scale, cut for the kit from Takom.
Responsibility details are not available.
Glazing from a kit is usually absolutely transparent, so a window on a finished model reads as an empty opening and you can see the whole untreated interior through it. The real vehicle, meanwhile, has thick, laminated and tinted glass. A tinting film evens this difference out: it darkens the clear part to a uniform shade, the vision ports gain depth and the view inside is closed off. It belongs among the refinements that show on a model even from a distance.
The Typhoon-K is a Russian armored wheeled vehicle from the Typhoon family of protected vehicles, built with the emphasis on protecting the crew against mines and improvised devices. The crew looks out through narrow windows with thick glass, so tinted glazing shows up particularly clearly on this subject. The set is prepared for 1:35 scale and, according to the name, is cut for the kit from Takom; check the match in the instructions supplied with the set all the same.
Wash and degrease the clear parts beforehand and let them dry perfectly, as a fingerprint will show through the film. Handle both the film and the parts with tweezers and take them only by their edges. Trim the excess with a new sharp blade on a smooth surface so that the film does not ripple. Whether it is applied dry or wetted before it goes on is given in the instructions supplied with the set, so follow those. Fit the glazing into the model only once the painting is finished.
The tinting film is supplied. The model, paints, glue and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
