The set holds American canteens in 1:35 scale. The word assorted in the original name means that it is an assembly of various pieces, not several identical parts of one form. The 1:35 scale matches the usual kits of military equipment and figures, for which this kit is intended.
Small kit is what gives a diorama credibility. Canteens are hung on the belts of figures, stowed among the load on fenders and hulls, placed around stowage boxes or simply left lying beside a resting crew. Because they are separate parts, you will place them exactly where you need them and are not bound by what a particular kit offers. They serve well in conversions too, where empty places on an armored vehicle need filling with small items.
Work over a light surface and with tweezers, as parts of this size are hard to find on the floor. Cut surplus material and traces of manufacture off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down lightly. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts, which the packaging or the manufacturer's instructions give. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and apply the paint in thin coats, so that the shape of the loops and the caps stays visible. Finally a darker shade in the recesses and a light picking out of the edges will help.
Unless stated otherwise, only the kit set is supplied. Figures, a model of equipment, paints and glue are not included in the package.
