Archer 1:35 infantry division patches (8th, 23rd, 35th, 40th and 44th) is a sheet of dry transfers for the uniforms of figures. They are applied dry by burnishing, not by soaking in water.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of dry transfers in 1:35 scale with shoulder patches of US Army infantry divisions. According to the name it covers the 8th, 23rd, 35th, 40th and 44th Divisions. The set serves to mark figures; it is not a model or a package of figures.
This is the most important thing to know before first use: the sheet is not soaked off in water. Cut the motif out together with its carrier film, lay it face down on the sleeve of the figure, hold it with tweezers and burnish gently with a rounded point, a toothpick, a bone burnisher or a pencil without lead. The motif is released from the film in the process and passes into the finish. Lift the film slowly and at an angle; if the whole area has not transferred, return it to exactly the same position and burnish the spot again. Anyone who soaks the sheet will lose it.
A patch in 1:35 scale is so small that with an ordinary waterslide decal it is precisely the carrier film that causes trouble: on the matte cloth of a uniform it leaves a glossy island that shows through even after matting. A dry transfer leaves no film at all, so the marking looks painted on. The surface should be smooth, well dried and degreased, because on a coarsely grained surface only part of the motif transfers. A magnifier and good lighting will make the work easier. After transfer, spray the figure with matte varnish, which will seal the patch, and only then go on with weathering and shading the uniform.
The set contains the markings only, not figures or a model. The exact breakdown of the patches is stated on the box.
