A small model, but because of the material and the small parts it is a build for more experienced modelers. It serves excellently as a way of bringing a diorama to life and as a vignette in its own right.
In the Second World War the American army used light motor scooters built by the Cushman company as cheap and undemanding transport for messengers, duty personnel and airfield crews. The machines fitted easily onto a ship and into a cargo hold, used a minimum of fuel and, on a paved surface, replaced a motorcycle or a cross-country vehicle where there was no need to cross heavy terrain. They appeared on airfield aprons, in camps and in rear-area installations, which makes them a rewarding detail in scenes where equipment alone is not enough.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water, so that the mold release agent disappears and the paint holds. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, never break them off, and level the surfaces with a file while protecting your airways. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and the fine photo-etched parts should be bent over a metal edge. Apply a base coat before painting. A small model will take only discreet weathering; a fine dark wash into the hollows of the frame and light chipping of the paint on the edges of the tank and the footboards work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
