The set is intended for a winter diorama in 1:35 scale. It holds castings of polyurethane resin complemented by photo-etched sheet, which makes it possible to produce thin parts in a scale thickness. It is not a model of equipment but a collection of accessories with which a scene is filled and given a story, because it is precisely the small things around a vehicle that turn a model into a diorama.
A winter scene makes different demands on a modeler than a summer one: it needs the traces of human activity in snow, a hint of the struggle with frost and objects you would not find there in warm weather. The accessories from this set therefore come into their own around a bogged-down vehicle, at a field kitchen, in a rear-area position and at a village farm building. They combine well with figures in winter clothing and with draft equipment.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw and glue with cyanoacrylate glue, which applies to the photo-etched sheet as well. Deburr the photo-etched parts before bending and bend them over a metal edge. Make the snow with modeling paste or a fine powder with thinned PVA glue, and apply it only once the parts have been painted. Winter is matte: leave gloss only on iced surfaces and on metal.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, snow pastes and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
