A universal photo-etched detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber in 1:35 scale. It holds movable, workable hinges in photo-etched metal, which let you realistically open and close the doors of tool bins, engine hatches or side plates on models of military equipment. It is not a vehicle model but an add-on set of small parts.
Real combat vehicles had a number of doors and hatches on pivoting hinges. In scale the hinges are usually only suggested by raised detail; this set replaces them with genuinely workable metal hinges, so the parts can be shown open. The first version denotes one of the two forms that Aber makes.
The hinges are very small, so work with tweezers on a light surface. Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and roll the hinge pins gently. Glue them spot by spot with cyanoacrylate glue so that they stay movable. Degrease before painting and apply a primer.
This is a universal photo-etched detail set, not a vehicle model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
