A sheet of printed paper posters from the manufacturer Matho Models, a specialist in diorama accessories and materials. The set of Canadian posters of the First World War period serves for pasting onto the walls, fences, notice boards and station buildings of dioramas in 1:35 scale. A small but prominent detail that sets a scene in a particular time and place at once.
Canada entered the First World War in 1914 alongside Great Britain and sent hundreds of thousands of volunteers to the front. Poster work at home called for enlistment in the expeditionary force and for subscribing to war bonds, often in English and French alike. On a diorama with the theme of Canadian or British units it is a very credible period element. The set is a reproduction of period graphic art intended exclusively for modeling and documentary use.
Cut the posters out with a sharp knife along a metal ruler and stick them on with diluted PVA glue; lightly dampened paper follows the texture of masonry. You will create the impression of an older posting by tearing the edges and toning them with diluted brown, and fading can be suggested by a fine light filter. Several posters partly pasted over one another look particularly natural.
A paper accessory for a diorama; buildings, figures and glue are not included in the package.
