German tank crew with animal heads, set B, 1:35 is a stylized figure set from the Tori Factory brand. It follows on from version A and works with the same motif of gorilla heads on figures in the uniforms of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second version of the stylized Tori Factory figure set in 1:35 scale. The line builds on the contrast between the matter-of-fact rendering of the uniform and equipment of the German army of the Second World War and a deliberately unrealistic animal head, here a gorilla one. The set carries the designation B, so it complements version A from the same line. Both can be built side by side at one vehicle, because the subject and the style are the same.
The figures are an accessory to a model of an armored vehicle in 1:35 scale and are meant to be placed in a hatch, on the hull or around the machine. The vehicle, a base and scenic accessories are not included in the package. It pays to stand the figures dry against the model first, because with tank crews the result is decided mainly by how the poses sit in the particular hatch.
Start with a thorough cleanup of the parting lines; on figures a burr shows the moment paint reaches the surface. Before priming, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, as a trace of mold release agent may remain on the castings. Paint the uniform as a base area, then run a dark wash into the recesses and pick out the edges with a dry brush. The animal head is the most interesting part of the work: fur reads better when you build it from a dark base up to lighter tips, with thin, rather short strokes in the direction of the hair. Leave the eyes for last and work with the smallest brush you have. A final matte varnish evens out the sheen and protects the paint during handling.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. The vehicle model, glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
