1:35 Sd.Kfz. 165 Hummel — photo-etched armor plates and fenders from Voyager Model are an add-on set for a plastic kit you already own, not a model. Thin photo-etched brass replaces the molded plastic plates on the Tamiya 35367 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A targeted aftermarket set, not a kit. It holds photo-etched brass parts in 1:35 scale for replacing the armor plates of the superstructure and the fenders on the finished Tamiya 35367 plastic model. On large flat parts the difference from injection-molded plastic shows most, because in reality these are fairly thin plates.
The Sd.Kfz. 165 Hummel was a German self-propelled gun of the Second World War with a 150 mm howitzer, built on a common chassis derived from the Pz.Kpfw. III and IV tanks. The fighting compartment was formed by an open superstructure of flat armor plates, complemented by fenders over the running gear. The vehicle served as mobile artillery support, not as a tank.
Large flat parts are glued differently from small items. First try holding them on dry and check whether the whole length seats; a small deviation at one end shows up several times over at the other. Apply the glue at first to only two or three spots, align the part and only once the position is fixed complete the joint along the whole length. While it dries, light weighting or a small clamp helps to keep the sheet from lifting. Check the corner joints with a square, because a crooked superstructure is immediately visible on a finished model.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
