Lift the design off with tweezers or the tip of a blade and move it into place without touching the adhesive side with your fingers. Try the placement dry first, because once it is pressed down the poster is hard to shift. Clean the surface of dust and grease beforehand; on rough stucco or on the texture of wood the adhesive layer holds less well, and there it pays to press the edges down with a fingernail and, if needed, to back them with a drop of PVA glue.
