This is a set of turned metal barrels in 1:350 scale from RB model. It is not a ship kit but a detail accessory that replaces the original plastic barrels of the gun turrets. The metal barrels have a perfectly circular section, crisply drilled muzzles and stand up better than fine plastic parts.
French battleships of the first half of the 20th century carried main guns of 305 mm (12 inches) caliber backed up by a secondary battery of 152 mm (6 inches). These guns made up the backbone of the armament of the French Navy and are a characteristic feature of the silhouette of these ships. The set makes it possible to capture their look faithfully even in a small scale.
Clean the barrels up gently and remove any casting remains. They are bonded into the turrets with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the surface before painting and apply a base coat (a primer) suitable for metal, and only then the top shade. A metal barrel holds paint better once roughened with a base coat.
The set holds only the turned barrels, not the whole model. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
