The British naval gun of 305 mm caliber carried under the designation mark 10, with a barrel 45 calibers long. The figure L/45 in the name is precisely that length of the barrel expressed in multiples of the caliber, not the caliber itself. Guns of this size made up the main armament of large warships and on a model they are the most conspicuous elements of the whole superstructure.
