A set of turned metal barrels in 1:350 scale from RB model. It is not a ship kit but a detail accessory for Japanese heavy cruisers. The metal barrels have a perfectly cylindrical shape, drilled muzzles and are more durable than fine plastic parts.
The Japanese heavy cruisers built and rearmed after 1932 carried main guns of 203 mm (8 inches) caliber, of the 20 cm/50 3rd Year Type design. This caliber was the upper limit allowed for cruisers by the naval treaties of the day and became the standard of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The long barrels are a conspicuous feature of these fast and heavily armed ships.
Clean the barrels up gently and glue them into the turrets with super glue. Degrease before painting and use a base for metal, then the top shade. A metal barrel stands up better to handling during further work on the model.
The package holds only the turned barrels, not the whole model. Glue and paints are not included.
