This is not a ship model but a set of turned metal masts in 1:350 scale from the Polish manufacturer MASTER. Each mast is 100 mm long and has a tapered profile that runs into a wider diameter at the foot and narrows toward the top – exactly like real ship masts. The set offers four diameters: 0.3/1.2 mm, 0.4/1.5 mm, 0.5/1.8 mm and 0.6/2 mm. This is the finer variant intended for thinner masts.
Tapered metal masts will replace straight or warped plastic parts from the kit. You will use them universally across ships of various eras for main masts, topmasts and struts. Metal holds its shape even as the rigging is tensioned and does not distort.
Shorten the mast to the height you need with sharp cutting pliers and clean up the end with a fine file. Glue with cyanoacrylate; for a firm joint drill a small hole in the deck or the base and set the mast into it. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a metal primer, or the paint will hold poorly on smooth metal.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
