This is not a ship model but a set of turned metal masts in 1:350 scale from the Polish manufacturer MASTER. Each mast is 100 mm long and has a tapered profile narrowing from the foot to the top, like real ship masts. This set is the heavier variant and offers four diameters: 0.7/2.2 mm, 0.8/2.5 mm, 0.9/2.8 mm and 1/3 mm. It suits the sturdier main masts of larger vessels.
Tapered metal masts will replace straight or warped plastic parts from the kit. You will use them universally across ships of various eras for main masts, topmasts and struts. The heavier profile will be appreciated above all by builders of larger battleships and cruisers, whose masts carry heavy platforms and rigging. Metal holds its shape even as the lines are tensioned and does not bend.
Shorten the mast to the height you need with sharp cutting pliers and clean up the end with a fine file. Glue with cyanoacrylate; for a firm joint drill a small hole in the deck and set the mast into it. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a metal primer. Check that the mast stands upright before the glue hardens.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
