This is not a ship model but a set of turned metal yardarms in 1:350 scale from the Polish manufacturer MASTER. A yardarm is a horizontal spar carried by a mast. The set contains six pieces of 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 and 65 mm length, one piece of each length. The accurate metal geometry will replace soft or coarse plastic parts from the kit and allows you to create a thin, straight and strong yardarm.
You will use the universal yardarms across ships of various periods – from pre-dreadnoughts to modern vessels – wherever you need mast yards, topmasts or booms for antennas and signal lines. The metal material holds its shape better than plastic even as the rigging is tensioned.
Measure the part and shorten it to the length you need with sharp cutting pliers, then clean up the ends. Glue with cyanoacrylate – cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a metal primer, or the paint will adhere poorly.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
