USN Mark 13 airborne torpedoes with trolleys (early), 1:350 are turned metal accessories for building models of ships and aircraft carriers. The set contains 10 torpedoes together with their transport trolleys.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a model of a ship or an aircraft but an accurate detail set in turned metal. The package contains 10 American Mark 13 airborne torpedoes in the early version together with the transport trolleys that were used on the decks and in the hangars of aircraft carriers. The parts replace the coarser plastic pieces of the base model and lift its scale fidelity.
The Mark 13 was the standard airborne torpedo of the US Navy in the Second World War, with a diameter of 22.4 inches. It was dropped by torpedo bombers such as the Douglas TBD Devastator and the Grumman TBF Avenger. The early version still had problems with reliability and accuracy, which were gradually put right during the war.
Separate the metal parts from the gate with a fine saw or by nipping them off and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Degrease the surface before gluing and painting. A base coat (primer) suitable for metal is recommended, and only then the final shade.
This is an add-on detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
