A wooden deck in 1:350 scale for the kit of the American large cruiser USS Alaska CB-1 from Hobby Boss (86513).
Responsibility details are not available.
USS Alaska CB-1 was the first ship of her class and belonged among the American large cruisers. In dimensions and silhouette she came close to battleships, but she was classified differently, and this category remained unique in American service. She entered service at the end of the Second World War and operated in the Pacific. That is exactly why she is a popular subject: the model has the size of a battleship but the slimmer lines of a cruiser.
The wooden deck is made for the Hobby Boss 86513 kit in 1:350 scale. The outlines of the pieces follow the shape of this kit, so trimming to the model is unnecessary. The material has a grain of its own, the seams between the planks read more finely than the molded relief of a plastic deck, and painting the deck area is unnecessary.
First level and sand the base so that the deck seats over its whole area, and remove the dust carefully. Check in the instructions from the manufacturer whether the piece has an adhesive layer or is glued separately. Try laying the pieces out dry first and only then settle them, working from the center out to the edges. Cut the surplus at the edge off with a sharp blade; a blunt knife tears the wood.
The set suits anyone who is building this kit and wants to move the finished model on with one pronounced step. The work calls for care rather than experience.
The delivery contains the wooden deck. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
