Riich 1:350 USS Los Angeles Flight I (688) is a plastic kit of the original version of the American nuclear attack submarine of the Los Angeles class in 1:350 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from the manufacturer Riich Models captures the American nuclear attack submarine of the Los Angeles class in the original Flight I (688) version in 1:350 scale. The model is built as a full-hull replica meant for a stand; the upper part of the hull is split and the sail can be fitted with retractable periscopes and masts. A photo-etched plate tends to come with the base.
Los Angeles was the lead ship of a numerous class of American attack submarines with nuclear propulsion. The Flight I version (SSN-688 and following) is the oldest group of the class; the distinguishing mark of these boats is the forward diving planes mounted on the sail. The submarines served to hunt surface as well as underwater targets and to escort task forces.
Glue the halves of the hull together and sand over the parting line on the keel and the deck carefully. Glue the forward diving planes on the sail exactly according to the instructions. Spray it with an airbrush in dark submarine shades, apply the decals onto a smooth surface and fix them with a matte varnish. Seat it on the stand supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
