Aber 1:400 set of barrels for the battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz is a set of turned metal barrels from the Polish maker Aber for models of German battleships in 1:400 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of turned metal barrels in 1:400 scale, not a standalone model. It replaces the plastic gun barrels of the German battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz. The turned parts are perfectly straight, free of a parting seam, with a genuinely drilled muzzle — and on small barrels in 1:400 scale that is a difference you see at first glance.
The Bismarck and the Tirpitz were the largest German battleships of the Second World War. The main armament was 380 mm guns in twin turrets, backed by secondary and anti-aircraft weapons of smaller calibers. The Bismarck became famous for a short sortie in the Atlantic in 1941, while the Tirpitz spent most of her service in Norwegian fjords as a standing threat to Allied convoys.
Carefully redrill the holes in the plastic turrets to the diameter of the metal barrels so that they sit without play and on the correct axis. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, as plastic cement does not hold on metal. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer; small barrels are best sprayed all at once while stuck to double-sided tape. Match the shade to the turrets, otherwise the metal barrels stand out.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
