In the 1950s the Skoda 1201 was among the most widespread Czechoslovak cars. It was built in several body releases and besides private owners it also served companies, authorities and taxi services. A car in the taxi release was therefore an ordinary part of the picture of city streets of the time and remains to this day a popular subject for collector's models.
The model in 1:43 scale is a kit whose parts snap together without glue. The assembly is therefore quick and even a collector who merely wants to put the model together and stand it in a display case can manage it. The extent of the parts and the assembly procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before assembling, check that the mating surfaces are clean; cut the surplus material and the traces of manufacture off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. Do not overstrain the joints, as the parts are held by their shape, and do not press on them hard while trying the fit. Protect the finished model from direct sunlight, which takes the richness out of the colors, and remove dust from it with a soft brush.
The set will please collectors of Czechoslovak automotive history as well as those interested in the history of urban transport who want a car in the taxi release alongside the ordinary civilian versions. The 1:43 scale is the most widespread one for collector's cars, so the model will fit in well among the other cars in a display case.
