Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer DK Decals, devoted to machines of the 348th Fighter Group of the US Army Air Forces. The package contains decals only; a model and plastic parts are not part of it. The name of the sheet gives the unit, not the type of aircraft, so look at the packaging and the enclosed instructions before buying to see which machines are shown and in which form.
The 348th Fighter Group of the US Army Air Forces operated in the Southwest Pacific during the Second World War. At first it was equipped with heavy Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighters with radial engines, and it later moved on to North American P-51 Mustangs. In practice this means that the markings of this unit appear on both types, so it is sensible to compare the content of the sheet with the model you want to build.
With decal sheets it is wise to allow for the age of the item: if a sheet has lain around for a longer time, spray it gently beforehand with a thin layer of clear gloss, which strengthens the film and keeps it from falling apart in water. Keep to the order of the layers: paint first, then gloss clear, the decals, another thin clear coat, and only at the very end the weathering and the matting. If you apply washes and pigments straight onto an unsealed decal, they can get under the film and leave stains. Cut the film as close to the artwork as possible and blot off the excess water so that no bubbles are left under the decal.
Decals are an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
