A set of 46 printed German hand grenades of the period of the Second World War for dioramas and for completing figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds 46 pieces of German hand grenades of the period of the Second World War. Small items like these are more visible on a diorama than one would expect: a box of grenades lying about, a grenade tucked behind a belt or a few pieces thrown down by a trench give a scene its scale and explain what is going on in it.
The parts are printed. With objects this small, printing manages sharp edges and the fine surface division that otherwise does not get into plastic. There are print supports on the parts, that is thin struts that held the part during printing; they are removed before the build. The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, not with solvent cement for plastic.
Cut the supports off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and only then sand the remainder carefully with fine sandpaper, so as not to disturb the shape. Work over a tray with a raised edge, because a grenade that has been cut off is easily lost. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry, otherwise the paint may not hold. Apply a base coat and only onto it the shades to suit the real subject; small parts are more comfortably sprayed before they are separated from the whole, if the arrangement allows it.
The set suits builders of dioramas and everyone who adds equipment to figures and vehicle interiors. The count of 46 pieces is enough even for a more extensive scene. Figures, a model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
