The fabric cockpit belts HGW 1:48 Albatros D.III / D.V / D.Va and OEFFAG replace plastic or decal belts with faithful fabric parts made of microfiber and fitted with photo-etched hardware.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a detail set of cockpit seat belts, not an airplane model. The universal set covers the Albatros family of fighter biplanes – the D.III, D.V and D.Va versions as well as the Austro-Hungarian license-built OEFFAG machines – in 1:48 scale. It replaces flat plastic or decal belts with parts made of real microfiber fabric and completed with photo-etched buckles.
The Albatros was one of the most widespread German fighters of the First World War. It was marked by an elegant semi-monocoque plywood fuselage, a Mercedes inline engine and a pair of synchronized machine guns. The D.V and D.Va versions were the later development of the type, while under the OEFFAG designation the machine was built under license by an Austro-Hungarian factory, among other things with more powerful engines and a reshaped nose. In the open cockpits of these aircraft the seat belts were clearly visible.
Choose the shade of belt, cut the parts out along the marked line with a sharp knife and then trim them to the length you need. Work the fabric briefly between your fingers so that it takes on natural folds, and thread it through the photo-etched buckles. Glue with PVA glue (white glue) – do not use cyanoacrylate or any other aggressive adhesive that could damage the fabric or the plastic.
This is not a complete model. The set does not contain glue, paints or a kit; it serves as an accessory to the base model.
