An antitank barrier in 1:48 scale from the maker Hauler is a diorama accessory with which you add an element of field fortification and of a road block to a scene.

An accessory for building dioramas and display scenes. It is not a model of a vehicle nor a kit: it is scenery that gives a scene context. Antitank barriers were built into road blocks, on the edges of villages, on the approaches to fortified lines and at bridges; their purpose was to stop or channel the movement of tracked hardware and force it into a detour into places that were under fire.
A barrier is a rewarding element, because it brings a vertical line into a scene and creates a natural obstacle around which the viewer's eye can be led. It is used either as a row by the verge or as a single displaced piece in a ditch, which immediately tells you that someone drove through there. It works well paired with a damaged fence, a rutted road or the remains of masonry. Watch the quantity, as a few pieces placed irregularly look better than a regular row across the whole base.
First wash the parts thoroughly in warm soapy water, so that no manufacturing layer preventing the paint from adhering stays on the surface, and let them dry perfectly. Cut any remains of the sprue gates off with a saw or a sharp scalpel and level the area with a file rather than snapping them off. It is glued with cyanoacrylate, and on larger joints epoxy helps. Always set the barrier into the base: add material, earth and mud spatter around the foot, as otherwise it looks stuck onto the surface. Painting: primer, a dark steel or gray base paint, over it a dry brush and rusty shades. Rust holds mainly on the edges, at the joints and at the foot, where water stands.
