Avia S-199 — detail set with decals, part II (1:48) from the Czech manufacturer AML combines resin details with a decal sheet and moves a model of the postwar Avia fighter up a class.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second part of the detail set from the Czech manufacturer AML for the Avia S-199 joins two things a modeler usually buys separately: resin accessories to refine the model and a decal sheet with markings. It is an accessory for a base kit, not a stand-alone model.
The Avia S-199 is one of the most interesting stories of postwar Czechoslovak aviation. It was based on the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G, into which a Junkers Jumo 211 F engine with a large three-blade propeller was installed. The aircraft served in the Czechoslovak Air Force and in 1948 it also became the first fighter of the Israeli Air Force. For the pilot it was demanding, but for the modeler it is rewarding, as few types offer so many unusual details and schemes.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply the decals on a gloss base and let them settle with a decal softener so that they sink into the engraved lines; once dry, tie the whole model together with a coat of varnish. Anything uncertain is always better tried dry. Part II follows on from the separately sold first part, but the two sets are used independently.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
