Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely die-cut painting masks for a model of the B-17G Flying Fortress bomber in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard of Obrnice near Most. The masks are intended for masking the anti-glare panels, that is, the dark areas ahead of the cockpit and on the engine nacelles that kept glare off the crew from reflections on the skin. It is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model.
The B-17G Flying Fortress was an American four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War, a key machine of the daylight strategic bombing campaign over Europe. The G version was distinguished by the chin turret under the nose for defense against head-on fighter attacks. The dark anti-glare panels were a typical element of the color scheme.
The masks are transferred to the skin with tweezers at the position of the anti-glare panels and define their shape exactly. The area is sprayed with a dark color and the masks are lifted off once it dries, giving a sharp, accurate panel edge without hand-lining or laborious masking with tape.
This is a set of masks, not a complete model. The kit and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
