This item is a variant of the SX-Art stencil set for a B-26C-50 model in 1:48 scale, which the manufacturer marks with the suffix MAX and issues alongside the basic configuration. These are self-adhesive stencils for spraying the color areas on the surface of the model, not masks for the glazing. The real subject

The B-26C-50 belongs to the late production batches of the twin-engine attack aircraft Invader, originally listed under the designation A-26. It is a fast machine with a laminar-flow wing, a slim fuselage and extensive smooth areas on which every transition of colors stands out.

How to lay out more extensive masking

With a larger set it pays not to work on the whole model at once. Divide the airframe into logical assemblies, for instance the wing, the fuselage and the tail surfaces, and finish each one, including lifting the stencils off, before you start the next. Stencils applied on one part otherwise stop you holding the model safely and come loose easily. Keep sheets not yet used in their original packaging and out of reach of direct sun; the tacky layer hardens over time and older material holds worse. Before the spraying itself, try out on a piece of offcut how the stencil behaves on your own base, especially if you are spraying onto glossy paint.
