Xtradecal 1:48 Battle of Britain Luftwaffe is a decal sheet in 1:48 scale with markings for German aircraft from the period of the Battle of Britain.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals from the British manufacturer Xtradecal in 1:48 scale, themed on the markings of Luftwaffe aircraft from the period of the Battle of Britain in 1940. It is an accessory for a kit and not a model. What the manufacturer gives on the packaging of the sheet and the instructions supplied are what decide. How far the period national markings are rendered is handled differently by different decal makers, so check that against the manufacturer's instructions too.
A sheet themed on a single period lets you build a counterpart to the British machines of the same time while keeping the printing quality and the color of the markings consistent. It also serves as a replacement for decals from older kits, which tend to be thick, inaccurate or yellowed with age.
With this subject the order of work is what decides. The procedure is always the same: camouflage, gloss varnish, decals, a thin coat of varnish again, and only then the weathering. Anyone who applies a wash or pigments before the varnish goes over the decals risks the color catching on the edge of the carrier film and framing the marking with a dark line. Conversely, a light misting of thinned base shade over decals that are already clear-coated is a proven way to blend new markings into the rest of the surface so that they do not look like stuck-on paper.
This is a modeling accessory, a decal sheet. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
