Eduard 1:48 BDU-33 and Mk.76 practice bombs is a resin detail set, not a kit in its own right. It replaces the simplified practice stores on the pylons of aircraft models in 1:48 scale.

This is a resin accessory from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, not an aircraft model. The set is meant to put precisely shaped practice ordnance on the pylons of a model under construction in 1:48 scale, in place of the plastic parts from the kit, which tend to be softly rendered and carry mold parting lines. Resin holds crisp edges, thin fins and fine surface detail considerably better than injected plastic.
The BDU-33 and the Mk.76 are American practice bombs of a low weight class, used for bombing training. They carry no warhead, only a small signal (smoke) cartridge in the rear section, from which a hit is scored on the range. In shape and weight they imitate the ballistics of live bombs, so the crew trains a release under conditions close to live ordnance. They are usually carried on multiple ejector racks under the wing or the fuselage. Practice and inert ordnance is marked with blue paint in US Air Force and Navy service, which makes a rewarding splash of color on a model.
Wash the parts first in warm water with detergent to remove any residue of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw or a knife with a fresh blade, not with pliers, which crack resin. Sand the cut dry and protect your breathing while sanding. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally the gel type, so that there is time to settle the position. Apply a primer before painting; resin holds paint badly without an undercoat. The blue shade of practice ordnance stands out on a darker background; contrasting bands and lettering can be put on with a decal or a fine brush.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package.
