Eduard 1:48 Beaufighter TF.X is a photo-etched set of accessory parts for a model of the British anti-shipping Beaufighter TF.X. An accessory to a plastic kit, not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched metal parts from the Czech maker Eduard for a plastic model of the British Bristol Beaufighter TF.X heavy fighter and anti-shipping aircraft in 1:48 scale. The photo-etched parts replace or supplement those elements of the kit that injection molding cannot render finely enough — thin sheet, grilles, brackets and small equipment. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory that is fitted into a model already bought.
The Beaufighter TF.X was the torpedo and anti-shipping derivative of the twin-engined Beaufighter with Bristol Hercules radial engines. It served mainly with the strike wings of RAF Coastal Command, which attacked German shipping along the Norwegian, Danish and Dutch coasts. The combination of 20 mm cannons in the nose, unguided rockets under the wings and the ability to carry a torpedo made it a feared opponent of convoys. It is precisely on a two-seat machine with a glazed navigator's station that photo-etched detail shows most, because the interior is clearly visible.
Follow the enclosed instructions and dry-fit the parts — photo-etched elements often replace plastic parts that first have to be cut away and sanded down. Make the bends in a photo-etch bender, glue with cyanoacrylate glue and use a wooden stick or a thin wire for dosing it. Degrease the metal parts and prime them with a primer for metal; pre-painted elements, if they are in the package, are on the contrary not painted and only sealed with a gloss clear coat. Finish and fit the interior before you close the fuselage.
It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
