This is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for it. The set from the LP Models brand contains, according to the name, a wheeled boarding ladder in the form corresponding to the later version of the Su-27, in 1:48 scale. It is the simplest variant from this part of the line; the manufacturer also offers sets extended with wheel chocks and a service ladder. The number of parts and the dimensions are given on the packaging of the set.
A ladder wheeled up to the cockpit is the quickest way of turning a model in a display case into an aircraft parked on the apron. It stands out above all on a model with an open canopy, where it leads the viewer's eye straight inside. At the same time it is an undemanding accessory for those who do not want to build a whole diorama but are looking for one element that will give the model context.
The Su-27 is a twin-engine fighter aircraft with the cockpit set high above the ground, to which a boarding ladder is wheeled up. The Late Version designation in the name refers to the form of the ground equipment used on the later machines; for the early versions the manufacturer offers separate sets.
Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water, so that the mold release agent from the mold is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc and sand the cuts down, best of all wet and with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply primer before painting, otherwise paint holds badly on resin. Bring the structure of the ladder out with a dry brush along the edges and a light wash in the joints; wear on the steps will add the impression of used equipment.
The accessory is supplied unassembled, unpainted and without a model of the aircraft. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
