A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive masks from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the Bell-Boeing MV-22 tiltrotor in 1:48 scale. The TFace description means that the set deals with the glazing from both faces, that is the outer and the inner. That comes in useful on machines with large windows and an open cabin, where the interior is clearly visible and a painted frame would be missing from the inner face. The set is not a model of the machine; it is an accessory for painting an already built model.
The Bell-Boeing V-22 is a tiltrotor that combines the qualities of a helicopter and an aircraft. The nacelles at the wingtips tilt, so on takeoff and landing the rotors work vertically as on a helicopter, while in the horizontal position the machine flies like an ordinary turboprop aircraft with higher cruising speed and range. The MV-22 version is the transport form for carrying personnel and cargo. Typical features include two large three-blade rotors, a folding wing for stowage on deck and a rear cargo ramp.
Stick the inner masks on before the cabin is closed up, otherwise you will not reach the glazing from inside. Clean and degrease the surface beforehand and press the edges of the masks down with a toothpick. Apply the paint in thin layers; a heavy layer tears easily when the mask is lifted. Take the masks off slowly and at a sharp angle, while the finish is only just touch-dry. Cover the remaining areas of glazing with ordinary masking tape or masking fluid.
This is an accessory for a model, not a model of the machine. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. We recommend checking the match with your own particular kit beforehand.
