A mask set in 1:48 scale for the Messerschmitt Bf 109 T kit from AA Models. The templates are applied before spraying and taken off once the paint has dried.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bf 109 T was the carrier adaptation of the Bf 109 fighter, prepared for a German aircraft carrier that never entered service. Against the land-based version the machine was given a longer wing and equipment for operating from a deck, that is an arrestor hook and catapult points. When the ship came to nothing, the finished machines served from land, where the larger wing meant they could get by with a short field. The carrier version is therefore one of the rarest among the Bf 109 variants and seldom appears on modelers' benches.
The set contains painting masks for the Bf 109 T kit from AA Models. They cover the areas that are to stay clean after spraying, above all the cockpit glazing. The scope of the set, that is which parts the templates cover and in what order they go on, is given in the instructions enclosed with the set. The templates are shaped to the parts of one particular kit, so they may not fit another model.
Masking is done before spraying, not once the paint has dried:
The set suits anyone building this very kit who wants the cockpit framing sharply separated without lining it with a brush. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
