Masks for covering the glazing of a Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet model in 1:48 scale, in the TFace form, that is for the outside and the inside.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet is a single-seat carrier-based multirole aircraft with two turbofan engines. You recognize it by the large leading-edge extensions at the wing root, the angular air intakes and the pair of canted vertical tail surfaces. The cockpit has a large sliding canopy, so the framing of the glazing and its color transition are very visible on a finished model.
Masks for an F/A-18E model in 1:48 scale in the TFace form. That means the sheets cover the glazing from both sides: the outer masks define the framing when spraying from outside, and the inner ones then cover the same from inside the cockpit. The extent of the set, that is which surfaces are covered, is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The masks are applied before spraying, onto degreased and dry glazing. They are laid on with tweezers, pressed down from the center to the edges, and the edge is run over with a toothpick so that no paint runs underneath. Apply the paint in thin layers. The inner masks are fitted before the canopy is glued into the fuselage, otherwise you will no longer reach them. Take them off as soon as the paint has flashed off, pulling straight upward.
For anyone who wants the framing of the glazing sharp and of the same width on both sides. Cutting tape by hand manages that only exceptionally in 1:48 scale and it costs considerably more time. The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
