An Aber 1:48 photo-etched set for the Cromwell Mk.IV — vol. 2, the fenders is an additional brass set aimed at faithful fenders on a model of the British cruiser tank. It is an accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An additional photo-etched set from the Polish maker Aber in 1:48 scale aimed at the fenders of a model of the British Cromwell Mk.IV cruiser tank. Thin brass fenders look more realistic than thicker plastic parts and also allow battle damage to be suggested. The set follows on from the basic set in the range and serves as an accessory to the build; it is not a model of the tank.
The Cromwell was a fast British cruiser tank powered by a Rolls-Royce Meteor engine. Its fenders were made of sheet metal and were often bent or lost in the field, so faithfully rendered fenders markedly raise the realism of a model.
Separate the fenders carefully from the fret, shape them on a photo-etch bending tool and suggest a slight bend if you like. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy; treat the brass with a base coat before painting. Better suited to more experienced modelers.
This is an accessory, not the model itself. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
