A set of painting (masking) masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale. The masks are precisely cut and serve to cover the canopy frames, the glazed areas and usually the tires as well when paint and varnish are sprayed. Thanks to their exact shape you get sharp, clean edges without laborious masking by hand with tape. It is an aftermarket accessory, not a model in its own right — the masks are used on a matching plastic model of the aircraft, which is obtained separately.
The Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. This updated version of the proven Hercules family has new engines, six-blade propellers and digital avionics; it carries cargo, drops paratroops and flies other missions.
The masks are separated carefully from the sheet, laid on a clean, degreased surface and pressed down gently so that paint does not creep in at the edges. The paint is applied in thin layers, best with an airbrush; once dry, the masks are taken off before the varnish has fully cured. It is worth filling the remaining glazed areas between the frames with masking tape or liquid mask.
These are painting masks, not a model of the aircraft. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
