A kit of the Australian CAC CA-25 Winjeel trainer in 1:48 scale. An unusual subject with a radial piston engine and fixed landing gear.
Responsibility details are not available.
The CAC CA-25 Winjeel is an Australian training aircraft developed and built for the Royal Australian Air Force by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation. It is a single-engine low-wing monoplane with a radial piston engine, fixed tailwheel landing gear and a glazed cockpit in which the instructor and the pupil sat side by side. It entered service in Australian pilot training in the 1950s and stayed in the inventory for decades; later it was also used for marking ground targets for other aircraft. Among modelers it is an unusual subject that will not get lost on the shelf among the usual fighters.
The kit on offer represents the CA-25 Winjeel in 1:48 scale. The extent of the parts, the number of color options and whether the package contains decals are stated by the manufacturer; go by the data on the box and in the instructions.
Check the parts before assembly, cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder back. Choose the glue according to the material: on parts that are not polystyrene, plastic cement has no effect and cyanoacrylate is used. Before painting, wash the surface in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let it dry. With its large area of glazing, the cockpit is worth assembling and painting before you close the fuselage up, because later it is hard to reach.
The package contains the kit, which is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and thinner are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
