A standalone resin figure in 1:48 scale from the Aerobonus range of the manufacturer Aires. According to the name it represents a Czech Air Force instructor in a form matching the operation of the Aero L-39, L-59 and L-159 aircraft. For Czech modelers it is an interesting item precisely because figures that fit their home aircraft exactly are hard to find. The aircraft model is not included in the package.
The Aero L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer that became one of the most widespread machines of its category and in its basic version has a two-seat cockpit with the instructor at the rear. The L-59 is its more powerful development and the L-159 ALCA is a derived light combat and training aircraft. All three types share the concept of a high-set cockpit with a good view, so on a model you can see inside and an empty seat is conspicuous.
First wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the mold release agent from the mold disappears. Cut the casting block off with a saw and sand the seam down wet with fine paper. Seat the figure in the cockpit dry and check that it does not touch the glazing anywhere under a closed canopy; if need be, sand the bottom down or adjust the angle of the legs. It is bonded with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint in layers: a base, the shade of the flight suit, thinned shading into the folds and a dry brush on the raised surfaces. Leave the helmet and the mask until last; their glossier surface sets them off well from the matte cloth. Do the harness straps in a contrasting shade; they are the most prominent lines on the whole figure.
The figure is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, glue and the aircraft kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
