Responsibility details are not available.
A pre-painted colored photo-etched cockpit accessory for the British Boulton Paul Defiant fighter in 1:48 scale from Yahu Models. It is not an aircraft model but a finished instrument panel, which replaces the plastic or decal instrument panel from the kit in the cockpit. The part is multi-layered, with fine gauges, and already painted including the dials; a gloss varnish on the faces imitates the cover glass of the instruments. The panel is prepared for the Defiant kit in this scale from Airfix.
The panel is placed in the cockpit instead of the part from the kit, which does away with the laborious painting of the individual gauges. Before gluing, it is usually enough to try the part for fit and if necessary to trim it slightly, because the cockpits of different kits differ a little in shape. It is glued with a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue.
The Boulton Paul Defiant was a British two-seat fighter of the Second World War, exceptional in that it concentrated all its armament in a rotating gun turret behind the pilot instead of in the wings. It was built in the Mk.I and Mk.II versions and was used, among other things, as a night fighter.
This is a cockpit accessory, not a model on its own. The aircraft kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
