Responsibility details are not available.
A set of painting masks from the Czech manufacturer AML for a model of the British Boulton Paul Defiant Mk.I fighter in 1:48 scale, cut according to the standardized camouflage scheme A. The RAF prescribed two mirrored patterns for the division of the colors, designated A and B, and this set corresponds to pattern A. With the masks you spray a historically faithful run of the brown and green fields exactly as the regulation laid it down, without guessing the shapes from a small side view.
The Defiant Mk.I was an unusual British fighter: it concentrated all its armament in a powered gun turret behind the pilot and had no weapons in the wing. After early successes in 1940 the vulnerability of the concept in daylight combat became clear and the Defiants moved to night fighting, where they achieved a number of victories. They were powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.
Lay the pattern out dry first and compare it with the kit instructions, so that you are sure of the orientation of the individual fields. Stick the masks onto the cured lighter color, press the edges down and spray the darker shade in thin coats. Around the turret and the fuselage transitions work in smaller sections, as the film then shapes better.
These are painting masks, an accessory for painting. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
