New Ware 1:48 Douglas B-26B-50 Invader BASIC: the basic set of pre-cut kabuki masks for a clean spray on the twin-engined Invader attack bomber in 1:48 scale.

The basic set of pre-cut New Ware masking templates for the American twin-engined attack bomber Douglas B-26B-50 Invader in 1:48 scale. The masks are plotter-cut from fine Japanese kabuki paper: they sit exactly on the part, give the sprayed area a sharp boundary and lift off once the paint has dried without leaving traces of adhesive. The BASIC variant is the basic extent of the range and covers the areas that are hardest to mask by hand.
Lift the template from the backing sheet with tweezers, lay it on the degreased part and smooth the edges down with a toothpick or a soft spatula. Spray thin coats at right angles to the edge of the mask so that paint does not run under the cut. On a twin-engined machine the size of the Invader the saving in time over hand masking is considerable, because the glazed areas are large and intricate.
The Douglas Invader is an American twin-engined attack bomber, deployed from the end of the Second World War and then intensively in Korea, where it flew mainly night attacks on supply routes. The B version is marked out by a solid nose fitted with 12.7 mm machine guns in place of the glazed bombardier's nose.
This is a masking accessory: the aircraft kit is not included in the package.
