New Ware 1:48 Douglas B-26B-50 Invader, masks for national insignia and USAF markings: kabuki templates for spraying the markings instead of applying decals on the Invader bomber in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut New Ware kabuki templates for spraying the national insignia and the letter codes of the US Air Force on the model of the Douglas B-26B-50 Invader bomber in 1:48 scale. Instead of applying decals you simply spray the markings through the mask: the result is perfectly matte, blends in with the surrounding paint, and there is no risk of silvering over the surface or of glossy edges.
Sprayed markings are the method real ground crews used, so on a model they look exceptionally convincing. The template is laid on a painted and polished surface, the edges are smoothed down and the marking is sprayed in thin coats. Lift the mask once the paint has flashed off. There is no work with softeners, no cutting of decals around rivets, and no risk of a large decal folding over or tearing as it goes on. The method also takes weathering afterwards: sprayed markings can be toned down with filters and washes just like the rest of the surface.
The Douglas Invader is an American twin-engined attack bomber deployed from the end of the Second World War and then in Korea. It is precisely on the Korean machines that USAF insignia and codes stand out against a dark surface, and a clean spray gives them an authentic look.
This is a masking accessory: the aircraft kit is not included in the package.
