An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The subject is the EA-18G Growler — a specialized electronic warfare aircraft derived from the two-seat Super Hornet. The kit has a finely engraved surface texture, a clear canopy, a detailed cockpit and landing gear bays, and seats with photo-etched harnesses. It is an extensive kit with a large number of parts.
The Growler grows out of the F/A-18F and took over most of the airframe and the systems of the Super Hornet, thanks to which it has comparable flying qualities and can escort strike packages. In place of some of the armament it carries equipment for jamming enemy radar and communications — both escort jamming and conventional standoff jamming. With the US Navy it replaced the older EA-6B Prowler machines, and you recognize it by its various antennas and jamming pods on the wingtips.
Glue the joints with thin modeling cement. Mask the clear canopy, unify the model with primer and apply the paints with an airbrush. We recommend gluing and painting the underwing pods, antennas and tanks separately and fitting them at the end, after the decals are on.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
