This is a resin detail set, not an airplane model. It replaces the standard plastic jet engine nozzles with a pair of precisely cast exhaust nozzles in the Type 2 variant for models of the twin-engine F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter in 1:48 scale. The parts carry a fine structure of the inner and outer petals and capture the shape of the nozzles in a particular position faithfully. The set is intended for the Revell kit.
The Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet is an American carrier multi-role combat aircraft used above all by the US Navy. It is powered by a pair of General Electric F414 engines with afterburners, whose exhaust nozzles are among the most prominent features of the rear of the aircraft. It is exactly this area that the set refines markedly compared with the base kit.
First wash the parts free of the remains of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The nozzles come out well with a combination of metal shades and heat discoloration; an airbrush and a final accent with pigments are recommended.
This is an accessory for advanced modelers. The basic Revell kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
