Northrop F-5E Tiger II (MiG-28) 1:48 from AFV Club - an injection-molded plastic kit of the American light fighter in the black finish of an aggressor unit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American light supersonic fighter Northrop F-5E Tiger II in 1:48 scale from AFV Club. The model has finely engraved panel lines, well worked out instrument panels, openable landing gear doors and an auxiliary intake door that can be built open or closed. The MiG-28 designation in the name is a film reference - it was a camera trick in which black-painted F-5s played a fictional enemy type; factually it is still a Northrop F-5E.
The Northrop F-5E Tiger II was an American light, inexpensive and reliable second-generation supersonic fighter. Thanks to its low running costs it became an export success with a number of allied states, and the US Navy as well as the US Air Force used it as an aggressor machine for air combat training. It was precisely these dark-painted aggressors that became the subject for the fictional enemy fighters on film.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. The landing gear doors and the auxiliary air intake can be built open and the detail accentuated with a wash. Apply a primer before painting; the all-black aggressor scheme stands out best after shading the panels and light weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
