A resin detail part in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Aires, the Quickboost range. This is not an airplane kit but an accessory that replaces the fragile plastic pitot tube with a more accurate and more robust resin part. The pitot tube senses the dynamic air pressure used to measure the speed. The part is meant to be built into the matching plastic model.
The Northrop F-5F Tiger II is the two-seat combat trainer version of the supersonic light F-5 fighter, powered by a pair of jet engines. Compared with the single-seat version it has a lengthened fuselage with a tandem cockpit. The type was used by a number of air forces around the world for training and light combat duties. The pitot tube on the nose serves to measure the airspeed.
First wash the mold release residue off the part, carefully cut off the casting block and bond it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Try the fit dry before gluing and adjust the surrounding plastic if needed. Spray the surface to match the rest of the model so that the part blends into the overall finish.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
