An injection-molded plastic kit of the American jet fighter Lockheed F-80A Shooting Star in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a modern mold with engraved surface detail. The box contains plastic and clear parts, a small photo-etched fret and decals, so you can build a fine model of an early jet fighter straight from the box.
The F-80 Shooting Star was one of the first production American jet fighters and the first to enter full operational service with the US Air Force. It had a straight wing and a clean aerodynamic fuselage with side air intakes. The F-80A version was an early production variant. Shooting Stars formed the transition from piston fighters to the jet era, and their two-seat trainer derivative served with many air forces for a very long time.
Use thin cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish the cockpit and the landing gear bays before closing the fuselage. The model offers optional positions of the flaps and airbrakes and a choice of tip tanks or underwing stores. Apply primer before varnishing and lay the colors on with an airbrush. For natural metal schemes, metalizer paints over a smooth, polished base work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
