The plastic kit by Hobby Boss captures the late production version of the Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The package holds gray and clear molded plastic, a detailed cockpit and landing gear and a decal sheet. The wings can be built either spread or folded.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a rugged carrier fighter of the US Navy, developed as the successor to the older F4F Wildcat. It was powered by a Pratt & Whitney radial engine of around 2000 hp. The Hellcat became one of the key fighters of the Pacific theater and earned a reputation as a reliable and durable machine.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. An airbrush and gentle panel shading suit the dark blue naval finishes. Use a gloss coat before the decals to prevent silvering and even the surface out at the end with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
