Two German subjects of the liaison and reconnaissance Fieseler of the beginning of the war. Besides the decals the envelope also holds masks for the glazing of the roomy cabin.
Responsibility details are not available.
An unassuming high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear and an enormous glazed cabin could hang in the air at a speed at which other aircraft fell out of the sky. The Luftwaffe used it for observation, for courier flights and for lifting people out of places another machine could not have reached. This sheet concentrates on two particular machines of the first years of the war.
The smaller number of subjects has a logic of its own: both markings are early and are tied to the period when the type was only just entering wider service. For a modeler building a diorama of the fall of 1939 it is one of the few ways to get an aircraft into a display case with a period-correct code and not with the later markings from the Russian front.
Besides the print, masks for the glazing are part of the envelope, which with this type save the most work of all the accessories: the cabin has dozens of small panes and masking with tape is a drawn-out job even for an experienced builder.
The code letters on the fuselage are long and run across the stiffeners, so it is worth using a softener and pressing the film down with a brush while it is damp. Paints and the kit are not part of it.
Anyone building an early machine should bear in mind that the camouflage of the day carried hard transitions between the fields; the print will stand out only once they are finished.
